I have practiced law since 2008 and built a career out of helping people access resources, solve problems, and navigate through government red tape. Originally from Massachusetts, I graduated from Boston College Law School and started out as a law clerk for the Massachusetts Land Court. There, I honed my legal research and writing skills.

 

In 2010, I commissioned in the U.S. Army as a lawyer in the Judge Advocate General (JAG)'s Corps. My first duty station was Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where I worked in legal assistance, federal administrative law, and military operational law. Advising Soldiers and family members gave me a deep appreciation for the issues facing people from less-advantaged backgrounds. I learned a lot about family law, landlord/tenant law, debt collection law, and even some immigration law. As an attorney in administrative law, I dealt with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and other public record requests on a regular basis.

 

In 2013, I worked as a defense attorney at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina. With a heavy caseload I gained significant experience in criminal law, trial practice, oral advocacy, investigations, and inter-agency relationship building. While still at Fort Bragg, I then served as the Group Judge Advocate for 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), with duties as a prosecutor and staff attorney to the commander of the Army's special forces training unit. There, I learned everything from how the government processes and interprets criminal offenses to helping Soldiers with Military Accessions Vital to National Interest (MAVNI) issues.

 

In 2010, I moved to Alaska to serve as the Special Victims' Counsel (SVC) for U.S. Army Alaska (USARAK). Covering Fort Wainwright, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), and Fort Greely, I represented over 100 clients over the course of three years, fighting for their rights and goals each and every day. There, I learned the importance of inter-agency relationship building and helping those in need work through confusing, complex, and ever changing legal processes.

 

In my career, I have worked as an attorney at every level of government:  federal, state, and local, and I bring that breadth of experience to my immigration practice. As an Army officer and veteran, I understand the the value of hard work and dedication. I am an action officer who takes initiative to find solutions, and I wants to help those around me accomplish their immigration goals, whatever they may be.

 

I have lived in Fairbanks since 2016, and count myself blessed to call such a wonderful community my home. I started this practice because I want to help others continue to live, work, and play here and improve our neighborhood.
